Apply to join an IMB

If you’d like to join an IMB near you, check to see if they are currently looking for new volunteers.

If there are no current vacancies in your area, please register your interest through this form here. You will be added to the mailing list for upcoming vacancies.

Applications to the IMB are completed using an online application form, full guidance on how to fill out the form can be found here. You
should first follow the application form link attached to the advert, to allow you
to register your initial details and access the application form.

When completing the form please note:
• The form will automatically save once you complete each section, or when
you click on the ‘save’ button.
• The application form can be saved and finished at a later time if you wish to
have a break or review your answers at a later date.
• All sections will have to be completed before the submission button can be
activated.

If you have any queries please do in the first instance raise them with the IMB
Secretariat via email, imb@justice.gov.uk.
In exceptional circumstances a paper application form may be acceptable. Please contact the Secretariat, imb@justice.gov.uk if you want to consider this option.

To find out more about an IMB you want to join, have a look at their annual report in our reports section. The IMB Code of Conduct explains the standards expected from IMB members.

You can also listen to a short interview one of our volunteers recently gave on BBC Radio Sheffield.
