The Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) for HMP Lincoln has today published its annual report for the period 1 February 2018 to 31 January 2019.
Every prison has an IMB attached to it whose role is to ensure that proper standards of care and decency for prisoners are maintained.
The Board’s Chair, Norma Krawiec, says,
“The Board is pleased to report that prisoners at HMP Lincoln are treated fairly and with respect. This is demonstrated throughout the establishment but particularly with the improved regime on the wings. Continuous efforts are also made to improve and maintain the cleanliness of the accommodation and recreational areas.
“Within the report however the Board has again identified some concern, in particular due to the lack of resolution to numerous maintenance and repair issues across the establishment and the lack of facilities and ease of access for prisoners with mobility difficulties.”
Norma Krawiec added that the Board is confident that the prison is moving forward in a positive manner.
